SpicyChat vs Janitor AI pricing, memory and age checks with every paid plan annualised
People comparing SpicyChat and Janitor AI have usually tried both for free and are deciding which one deserves a card. They overlap more than most pairs in this category: both allow adult roleplay, both run on community made characters, and both give away unlimited free chat. The differences are in what the money buys, who gets carded, and what a year actually costs. Every number here comes from SpicyChat's subscribe page, documentation and refund policy, and from Janitor's plus page, help center, announcements and Terms, all read on 14 October 2026.

The short answer
Janitor AI is cheaper for more memory; SpicyChat is simpler to pay for and works without any setup. janitor+ costs $12.99 a month or $99 a year and gives five times Janitor's free context of about 9k tokens, plus optional per token charges for bigger models. SpicyChat's tiers cost $5.95, $19.95 and $29.95 a month, or $60, $199.95 and $299.95 a year, for 4K, 8K and up to 32K tokens of context. The biggest practical difference for US users is age checks: SpicyChat asks for a video selfie in 26 states, while Janitor checks no US user at all.
The short version: SpicyChat sells memory in three fixed tiers and is the easier product to start with. Janitor sells one plan with more context than any SpicyChat tier below the top, then lets you pay per token for stronger models if you want them. If what you are really after is one partner who remembers you rather than a rotating cast, that is a third kind of product, and the demo above is free to try.
What makes them feel real
SpicyChat vs Janitor AI compared on price, memory and age checks, the way it should feel
More memory per dollar on Janitor
janitor+ at $99 a year gives five times Janitor's free 9k context. SpicyChat's True Supporter at $199.95 a year gives 8K. Only SpicyChat's top tier, at $299.95, goes higher, up to 32K.
One bill on SpicyChat
SpicyChat's price is the whole price. Janitor's subscription is a floor: its Router bills third party models per token from a separate wallet, and those credits are non refundable.
Only one cards US adults
SpicyChat checks age by IP in 26 US states, with a video selfie and an ID fallback. Janitor checks only users in Australia, Brazil and the UK and says it has no plans to expand.

SpicyChat vs Janitor AI side by side
Per year figures are arithmetic on the published prices, because a monthly plan that renews all year is what your card actually sees. Where a company does not publish a number, the cell says so.

SpicyChat's yearly prices come from its pricing update FAQ; its live subscribe page showed the monthly prices. Janitor's yearly plan is sold on janitorai.com; the apps sell janitor+ monthly only. Subscribers who joined SpicyChat before 8 September 2026 may still be paying the older, lower rates.
Is SpicyChat better than Janitor AI?
SpicyChat is better if you want to open a browser and start, with one predictable price and nothing to configure. Janitor AI is better if you want the most memory for the money and do not mind choosing models yourself. On content they are closer than their reputations: both allow adult roleplay, both ban sexual content involving minors and non consensual themes, and both rely on community made characters you move between.
The real splits are three. Price per unit of memory favours Janitor at every level except SpicyChat's top tier. Billing favours SpicyChat, whose subscription is the whole bill, while Janitor's Router can add a second, metered charge. And age checks favour Janitor for most American adults, because SpicyChat asks for a video selfie in 26 US states and Janitor asks no US user at all.
So the honest test is where you live and how you use it. If you are in Texas, Florida, Virginia or one of the other states on SpicyChat's list and do not want to scan your face, that settles it. If you are not, and you want zero setup, SpicyChat is the smoother product.
Which is cheaper, SpicyChat or Janitor AI?
Janitor, for anyone who wants more than the entry tier. janitor+ costs $12.99 a month, or $99 a year bought on Janitor's website, which works out to $8.25 a month. SpicyChat's Get A Taste is cheaper at $5.95 a month or $60 a year, but its context is the same 4,096 tokens as SpicyChat's free tier, so it mostly buys you no ads and the Memory Manager.
The comparison that matters is the middle. SpicyChat's True Supporter, the tier it marks Most Popular, is $19.95 a month or $199.95 a year for 8K of context. janitor+ is $99 a year for five times Janitor's free 9k. Paid monthly for a year, True Supporter is $239.40 and janitor+ is $155.88.
One caution on the Janitor side. Its subscription is a floor rather than a ceiling, because Router lets you use third party models inside Janitor billed per token from a wallet. janitor+ subscribers can claim $5 in free Router credits, and some popular models are 10 percent off, but heavy use of large models can cost more than the subscription itself. Set a wallet budget before you start.
Does SpicyChat or Janitor AI have better memory?
Janitor gives more memory for less money, and SpicyChat gives more memory tools. SpicyChat's own tokens and context page lists 4,096 tokens on Free and Get A Taste, 8,192 on True Supporter and up to 32,768 on I'm All In, depending on the model, and adds that each model has its own maximum and your chat uses whichever is lower. True Supporter also adds Semantic Memory 2.0, where characters write their own memories, and every paid tier gets a Memory Manager for adding them by hand.
Janitor's help center puts free context at around 8,000 to 9,000 tokens, and janitor+ multiplies it by five. A memory panel lets you write the facts a bot should keep. Janitor does not publish an automatic memory feature comparable to Semantic Memory.
In practice, a long and detailed scene holds better on janitor+ than on any SpicyChat tier short of I'm All In. The fair test for either takes a week: mention one specific detail on day one and see whether it comes back on day five without a prompt.
Do you need to verify your age on SpicyChat or Janitor AI?
On SpicyChat, if you connect from one of 26 US states. Its age verification page lists Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Wyoming and West Virginia, plus France, the UK, Italy and Australia. It decides by your current IP address. The check is a video selfie with an ID fallback, and if you skip it you keep your account but lose NSFW content. SpicyChat says it never sees or stores the images or documents.
On Janitor, only if you connect from Australia, Brazil or the UK. Its help center says those users complete a one time check through k-ID, and that Janitor has no plans to extend verification to other regions. A US user is not asked.
This is the single biggest practical difference between the two for an American buyer, and it is the one most comparison pages leave out. Our separate SpicyChat age verification guide walks through the check itself, step by step.
What does janitor+ get you compared with SpicyChat True Supporter?
janitor+ buys context and access. Janitor's plus page lists five times the free context and replies three times faster when the site is busy, and its launch post adds unlimited priority messages and monthly swipes with its frontier models. It also unlocks Router, so you can use outside models without pasting an API key.
True Supporter buys a fixed bundle. SpicyChat's premium features page lists 8K context, Semantic Memory 2.0, replies up to 300 tokens instead of 180, Conversation Images on select characters, more models, no ads and up to 50 personas. Text to speech, priority generation, images on your own characters and its largest models are kept for I'm All In at $29.95.
On one line: janitor+ is more room for the story at a lower price, with a meter if you want bigger models. True Supporter is a complete package with images and automatic memory, and no second bill.
Can you use SpicyChat or Janitor AI on an iPhone?
Janitor, yes; SpicyChat, only in the browser. SpicyChat's documentation says it has no native iOS app because Apple determined the app did not comply with its guidelines, and its Android app is an APK downloaded from spicychat.ai rather than a Google Play listing. Any App Store app using the SpicyChat name is not made by NextDay AI.
Janitor has official apps on both stores, sold by JanitorAI, INC. Its help center notes that NSFW content is disabled by default in the iPhone and Android apps to comply with Apple and Google, and can be turned on only from the website. The yearly janitor+ plan is also sold only on the website, so buy it there rather than in the app.
How do refunds and cancellation work on each?
Strictly on both. SpicyChat's refund policy, updated 7 October 2026, says fees are non refundable once your login has been used, that not using a membership is not grounds for a refund, and that there are no refunds for partial months. Purchases made with a method that cannot be reversed, such as cryptocurrency, cannot be refunded at all. You cancel from the Manage Subscription button on your profile.
Janitor's Terms say fees are generally non refundable and that no partial refunds are given for unused time. Router credits are final even when they expire, which Janitor may do after 365 days. Web plans are cancelled under Settings, Billing, which opens the payment portal; app plans only in the App Store or Google Play.
One rule only SpicyChat has: subscribers who joined before 8 September 2026 keep their old, lower price only while the plan stays active and unchanged. Switching tiers, switching between monthly and yearly, or letting a failed card lapse moves you to current pricing for good.
Who should pick SpicyChat, Janitor AI, or neither?
Pick Janitor if you want the most context for the money, you live in a state where SpicyChat would card you, or you want to try bigger models and are disciplined about a wallet budget. Buy the $99 year on the website once the free 9k context starts losing your story.
Pick SpicyChat if you want zero setup and one predictable bill, and you either live outside its 26 states or do not mind the selfie. True Supporter is the tier the product is built around; take the $199.95 year only after two weeks of heavy free use tell you memory is what is holding you back.
Pick neither if what you really want is one partner rather than a library. Amorous.ai is built around a single companion with long term memory, romantic and affectionate but never explicit, who picks up where you left off. It costs $12 month to month or $9 a month billed yearly with nothing metered on top. Try the demo at the top of this page before you pay anyone.
