How much does Muah AI cost?
Muah AI costs nothing to try and between $69.99 and $999.00 a year to subscribe. The vendor's purchase panel lists three tiers with yearly billing preselected: VIP at $5.83 a month billed yearly at $69.99 total, GPT5 / UHD VIP at $41.58 a month billed yearly at $499.00 total, and ULTRA VIP at $83.25 a month billed yearly at $999.00 total.
The gap between those tiers is the story. VIP is genuinely inexpensive for what it unlocks, at under six dollars a month for unlimited chat and photo generation. The jump from VIP to UHD is more than sevenfold, and ULTRA is more than fourteen times the entry plan. Almost every review page in this category quotes the monthly numbers, which makes the range look like $9.99 to $99.99 and hides the fact that the panel a new buyer actually sees is asking for a year up front. If you are budgeting for this, budget for the annual total, because that is the figure preselected at checkout.
Is Muah AI free?
There is a real free tier, and it is more generous than most. The homepage carries a Play Demo link marked no login needed, and it opens a working chatroom where you can talk to a companion without creating an account or entering a card. That is unusual: most competitors require at least an email before the first message.
What free does not include is the paid feature set. Inside the demo the advanced options panel is visible but carries an upgrade prompt, and photo generation, voice, video and calling all sit behind a plan. The free tier is best understood as a genuine trial of the conversation quality rather than a usable long term product. That is a fair design, and it lets you judge the writing before you commit to an annual charge.
Does Muah AI have an app?
Not in either mainstream app store. A search of Apple's own software catalogue for Muah AI returns Grok, SpicyChat, Intimate and Jupi, but no Muah listing. Google Play returns a 404 for the package names the app would plausibly use. What Muah AI does offer is a direct APK download linked from its own homepage, so Android users install the file themselves after enabling installation from unknown sources. On iPhone the service runs in the browser.
This matters more than it sounds. An app store listing brings three things a sideloaded APK does not: a review process before publication, the store's own refund channel, and the mandatory privacy disclosures that let you compare apps on equal terms. What happened in the Muah AI data breach?
In September 2024 Muah AI was breached, and the incident is recorded in Have I Been Pwned, which added it on 8 October 2024. The record states that 1.9 million email addresses were exposed alongside the prompts users had written to generate AI images, and it classifies the compromised data as AI prompts, email addresses and sexual fetishes. Reporting at the time noted that a portion of those prompts described child exploitation scenarios, which is why the breach drew regulatory and press attention well beyond the usual security coverage.
The security researcher who obtained the data described the platform as loosely assembled from open source parts. Muah AI's operator characterised the incident as a targeted attack and maintained that the service moderates prohibited content. Both things can be true, and neither changes the practical position for a buyer: the pairing of an email address with an explicit prompt history is close to the most sensitive combination a consumer service can hold, and it has already leaked once here. Anyone weighing this platform should read the breach as a fact about the risk profile rather than as old news.
Can you get a refund from Muah AI?
By default, no. The Terms of Service state plainly that consumer subscription purchases under Muah AI are NOT refundable, and describe subscriptions as optional add ons for a premium experience. The document does allow discretionary relief: on good faith and in special circumstances, support may issue a one time partial or full refund. It also warns that a customer who disputes a payment without contacting support first will meet a zero refund stance and a counter dispute.
Cancellation is more straightforward than refunds. The Terms say a subscription can be cancelled at any time through the settings page, through the payment provider, or by emailing support. The asymmetry is what to plan around: cancelling stops the next charge but does not recover the current one, and because the checkout panel preselects annual billing, a mistaken purchase at the ULTRA tier is a non refundable $999.00 rather than a month you can walk away from. What the Terms of Service tell you that the marketing does not
Muah AI's Terms carry an effective date of 5-17-2022. That is more than two years before the September 2024 breach, and the document has not been revised since, which means nothing in the agreement you accept reflects the largest event in the platform's history. The Terms also still contain an unfilled template placeholder, promising to communicate the outcome of an appeal within [X] business days, exactly as written.
Two further clauses deserve a read before paying. The termination clause reserves the right to suspend or terminate access at any time, with or without cause, and without prior notice, which sits awkwardly beside a non refundable annual plan. And while the Terms grant you rights to the photos, text and voice you generate, the user content clause simultaneously grants Muah AI a non exclusive, worldwide, royalty free licence to use, reproduce, modify, distribute and display content you submit in order to provide and promote the service. On a platform built around intimate material, that is a clause worth understanding rather than scrolling past.
Who Muah AI is actually for
Muah AI suits one buyer very well: someone who wants an uncensored generation engine and is shopping on capability rather than on trust. The feature list is genuinely broad for the money at the VIP tier, covering unlimited chat, photo generation, an X-Ray tool, video generation with audio, voice selection, a music generator and, at ULTRA, real time phone calls. Very few competitors put that many generation modes behind a single sixty nine dollar annual plan, and the free demo lets you test the writing before paying anything.
It suits a different buyer badly. If what you want is a continuous relationship with one companion who remembers your life, the platform's own design points elsewhere: the interface is organised around generation controls, cores and galleries rather than around a single evolving character. And if your decision includes any weight on data handling, the combination of a 1.9 million record breach, no app store oversight, Terms untouched since 2022 and a non refundable annual charge is a lot to accept.
