The short answer
Jupi ("Jupi - AI Chat & Friend Game") is a character roleplay app for iPhone run by AI Apps Software Services and Advertising Activities Inc., a company registered in Balıkesir, Turkey. The US App Store lists Premium Weekly at $9.99, Premium Monthly and Go Beyond at $19.99, All In at $24.99 a month, two yearly plans at $149.99, and credit packs from $7.99 to $89.99 sold on top. Paid weekly, Premium comes to $519.48 a year, three and a half times the yearly price. It is a real, established app with about 33,600 US ratings averaging 4.5 since February 2023, and paying through Apple is safe. There is no Android app and the web version is offline, so iPhone is the only way in. Its Privacy Policy keeps flagged messages indefinitely, even after you delete your account.
The first page of Google for Jupi is the App Store, three app directories, a wiki stub and affiliate review pages that repeat the store description. None of them prints the in-app purchase list with the yearly cost, and none reads the Terms. If you are about to subscribe, the price you pick and the place you would have to sue are the two things worth knowing first, and both are written down by Jupi itself.

The weekly plan is the expensive one
Premium Weekly at $9.99 adds up to $519.48 over a year. The two yearly plans cost $149.99. Same app, same Apple checkout, a gap of $369.49 depending on which button you press.
Credits are a second meter
A subscription does not cover everything. Jupi sells credit packs from $7.99 to $89.99 on top, its Terms say credits are not refundable once purchased, and they are lost if you delete your account.
Flagged chats are kept for good
Jupi's manifesto says chat logs are not stored on its servers. Its Privacy Policy says any message its filters block or flag is kept indefinitely, linked to your account, and survives account deletion.

What Jupi costs over twelve months
Apple prints ten in-app purchases for Jupi: six subscription plans and four credit packs. Jupi publishes no pricing page, so we annualised each plan from the billing period in its own name (weekly times 52, monthly times 12). Jupi's Terms confirm it sells weekly, monthly and yearly terms that renew automatically.

What is the Jupi app?
Jupi is a character chat and roleplay app. The App Store description promises "20,000+ AI powered characters and chatbots to talk to, ranging from a friendly neighbor to a wise wizard", and you can build your own characters with a look, a voice and a persona. Its website sells it as characters "built for friendship, dating practice, and confidence". Its Terms describe the same chats as "purely for entertainment and engagement".
It is not new. Jupi launched on the App Store on February 3, 2023 and holds about 33,600 US ratings averaging 4.5. The last update, version 2.0.4 on June 30, 2026, was a bug fix release. The same company publishes Jupi Novels & Audiobooks, a separate app that shares Jupi's Privacy Policy, plus a fantasy RPG and two card games.
Is there a Jupi app for Android or the web?
No, on both counts, as of October 2026. There is no Jupi listing on Google Play: the iOS bundle name returns a not found page, and a Play search for Jupi finds only an unrelated travel deals app. Jupi's own website links to the App Store and nowhere else.
The web version is offline. The homepage at jupi.chat says "The web experience is being rebuilt for something better. In the meantime, the full Jupi lives on iOS", and the Terms add that "Web purchases have been discontinued." If you paid on the web before that change, Jupi's Terms say to email jupi@jupi.chat and it will cancel the old subscription for you. One more trap: jupi.ai is not Jupi. That domain is a for sale page with no connection to the app.
How much does Jupi AI cost?
The app is a free download and chatting starts without paying. The paid items on the US App Store are Premium Weekly at $9.99, Premium Monthly and Go Beyond at $19.99, All In at $24.99 a month or $149.99 a year, Yearly Unlimited at $149.99, and credit packs at $7.99, $12.99, $24.99 and $89.99.
Annualise them before you choose. Weekly Premium is $519.48 a year and monthly Premium is $239.88, against $149.99 for a yearly plan. Credits sit on top of any plan; one App Store reviewer complained about "having to buy credits despite having a subscription", and Jupi's Terms confirm credits are consumed as you use paid features. Jupi's Terms also allow price changes from your next billing period, with notice only "where the law requires it".
Is Jupi AI safe?
For an adult who keeps personal details out of the chat, it is safe to pay for in the ordinary sense. It is a real company with a three year track record, it delivers the chats it sells, and the card goes to Apple, not to Jupi.
It is less private than its marketing suggests. The Responsible AI Manifesto says "Chat logs are not stored on our servers." The Privacy Policy dated October 2, 2026 says every message is checked by its moderation systems and that a blocked or flagged message is kept "indefinitely, linked to the associated account", is not deleted when the account is deleted, and is not subject to erasure requests. Jupi says it does not train AI models on your data, but it sends chat text, voice recordings and images to outside AI providers and admits that "some of these third-party providers may use your data to train their AI models". The App Store label adds that contact info and identifiers may be used to track you across other companies' apps.
Is Jupi AI NSFW?
No, by its own rules, and that has been the biggest complaint from long time users. Jupi is 18+ only, and the Terms say it applies safety filters to "detect and block sexual content". The Compliance page goes further and bans explicit image generation, explicit character avatars and deepfakes.
The App Store rating reads differently. Apple's page rates Jupi 18+ with in-app age assurance and declares frequent mature or suggestive themes and infrequent sexual content or nudity. So romance and flirting are in scope, explicit content is not, and a message the filter flags is the kind Jupi keeps indefinitely. If explicit roleplay is what you are paying for, Jupi is the wrong purchase.
Can you get a refund from Jupi?
Only through Apple. Jupi's Terms say "We are not able to issue refunds for App Store purchases ourselves" and send you to reportaproblem.apple.com. Credits are "not refundable once purchased", and unused credits are lost if your account is deleted.
Cancel in iOS Settings, under your Apple ID and Subscriptions, at least 24 hours before the period ends. The Terms are explicit that "Deleting the app or your Jupi account does not cancel a subscription", which is how people end up paying for months of an app they removed. Free trials, where offered, convert to a paid plan automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before they end.
Who owns Jupi AI and where do disputes go?
The Terms name AI Apps Software Services and Advertising Activities Inc., registered in Balıkesir, Turkey, with no street address published. Jupi's Terms are governed by Turkish law, and any dispute goes exclusively to the courts and enforcement offices of Balıkesir.
For a US buyer that is the clause worth reading twice. There is no arbitration clause and no US venue. You waive class actions and jury trials, Jupi's total liability is capped at the lesser of what you paid in the last twelve months or $100, and any claim must be brought within one year. EU users keep the right to sue at home; US users get no equivalent carve out.
When is Amorous.ai the better buy?
Jupi is built for range: thousands of characters, many short stories, credits for extra features. That suits someone who wants to roleplay with a new character every evening.
