PolyBuzz vs Talkie Subscription Prices and Content Rules
Talkie lists a 1 Year plan at $49.99 on Apple's US store while PolyBuzz's cheapest year is $99 on its website, and PolyBuzz's iPhone app is no longer on the US App Store. Every plan annualised, which one remembers more, which allows adult roleplay, age checks and refunds.

PolyBuzz is the better buy for memory and adult roleplay, and Talkie is the cheaper, tamer app built around voice. Talkie sells a 1 Year plan at $49.99, 1 Month at $9.99 and Talkie+ Pro at $24.99 a month on Apple's US store. PolyBuzz sells Standard, Premium and Ultimate at $9.90, $19.90 and $29.90 a month, or $99, $199 and $299 a year on its website. One thing changed this month: as of October 19, 2026, PolyBuzz's iPhone app is not on the US App Store, while it is still on Google Play.
Most people comparing these two have used both for free and are deciding which one gets a card. This article sticks to what decides that: what each plan costs over a year, what the subscription buys, where you can still buy it, what each app allows, who checks your age, and how refunds work. Talkie's prices come from Apple's US in app purchase list read on October 19, 2026. PolyBuzz's come from its membership page and the last Apple US list we captured, on October 4, before the listing went dark.

Is PolyBuzz better than Talkie?
PolyBuzz is better if you want characters that remember more and allow adult roleplay. Talkie is better if you mostly listen rather than type, you like collecting characters, and you want the lowest yearly bill. Both have huge libraries of community made characters and both are free to start, so the real question is what the subscription buys you.
The two apps are built around different habits. PolyBuzz is a text first roleplay library that sells memory by the tier and tells Apple its content is sexually frequent and intense. Talkie is organized around voice, character cards and a collectible layer of gifts and gems, and its community rules ban explicit sexual content and even suggestive undertones. Someone who wants an unfiltered story will be frustrated on Talkie within an evening. Someone who wants a character with a good voice to talk to on the commute will find PolyBuzz's extra freedom beside the point.
If what you really want is one partner rather than a library, neither app is designed around that. Amorous is one AI girlfriend or boyfriend built around long term memory, and you can try the conversation at the top of this page before paying anyone.
How much does PolyBuzz cost compared to Talkie?
On a yearly plan Talkie costs about half as much. Talkie's 1 Year item is $49.99 on Apple's US list, while the cheapest PolyBuzz year is Standard at $99 on its website. Month to month the entry plans are almost identical, $9.90 for PolyBuzz Standard and $9.99 for Talkie's 1 Month item, so about $119 a year either way.
| Plan | Price as listed | Cost over 12 months |
|---|---|---|
| Talkie 1 Year | $49.99 | $49.99 |
| Talkie 1 Month | $9.99 | $119.88 |
| Talkie 1 Month Talkie+ Pro | $24.99 | $299.88 |
| Talkie Sparks Pass, 7 days | $0.59 | $30.68 if renewed every week |
| PolyBuzz Standard, yearly on the web | $99 | $99 |
| PolyBuzz Standard, monthly | $9.90 | $118.80 |
| PolyBuzz Standard, weekly | $4.99 | $259.48 |
| PolyBuzz Premium, monthly or yearly | $19.90 a month, $199 a year on the web | $238.80 / $199 |
| PolyBuzz Ultimate, monthly or yearly | $29.90 a month, $299 a year on the web | $358.80 / $299 |
Two traps, one on each side. PolyBuzz's weekly Standard plan looks like half the monthly price, but a month holds about 4.35 weeks, so $4.99 a week renews to $259.48 a year, more than two and a half times the $99 web year. On Talkie the trap is the top tier: Apple shows no yearly Talkie+ Pro item, so the only way to hold Pro is $24.99 a month, and Apple does not print which tier the cheaper 1 Month and 1 Year items belong to. Read the plan name and the renewal period on the purchase sheet before you confirm.
Both apps also sell a currency on top of any subscription, Coins and Opals on PolyBuzz and Gems on Talkie. Neither is required to chat, but both are how spending quietly drifts past the plan price. The full PolyBuzz tier list is on our PolyBuzz review, and Talkie's plans are set against Character.AI's in Talkie vs Character AI.
Is PolyBuzz still on the App Store?
Not in the US, as of October 19, 2026. PolyBuzz's App Store page returns not found, and Apple's own lookup service returns no result for the app in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada or Australia. On October 15 the page was already gone but the lookup still found the app, so the listing went away in stages over the past week. PolyBuzz has not published an explanation that we could find, and we are not going to guess at one.
The Android app is unaffected. Google Play still lists PolyBuzz: Chat with AI Friends from Cloud Whale Interactive Technology LLC, with more than 50 million downloads, 1.19 million reviews and an update dated September 21, 2026. The yearly plans were always sold on polybuzz.ai rather than in the apps, so a new iPhone user who wants PolyBuzz today has to subscribe on the website.
If you already pay for PolyBuzz through Apple, check iPhone Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions, and confirm whether the plan is still active and when it renews. An app disappearing from the store does not, by itself, tell you anything about your billing. Talkie has been through this too: its original iPhone listing was replaced by the current Talkie Lab app, which is why searching the App Store for plain "Talkie" no longer finds the old one.
Does PolyBuzz or Talkie have better memory?
PolyBuzz, at least on paper, because it is the only one of the two that names what you get. Its membership page lists Long Memory on every paid tier and Permanent Memory on Ultimate. Its own FAQ is candid that characters may still forget earlier conversations over time.
Talkie promises "extended memory" in its store description, and the Hong Kong listing prospectus of its parent company, MiniMax, says the monthly membership offers "enhanced chat memory" along with more reply regenerations and faster responses. Talkie publishes no memory size, pin count or context figure, so you cannot check before paying. The fair test for either app takes a week: tell a character one specific detail on Monday and see whether it comes back on Friday without a prompt. If remembering your life over months is the point, our page on an AI companion with memory explains what real long term memory looks like.
Does Talkie allow NSFW like PolyBuzz?
No. Talkie's community rules ban both explicit sexual content and content with suggestive or implicit sexual undertones, and the app declares no sexual content at all to Apple; its only advisories are mild contests and loot boxes. PolyBuzz is at the opposite end of Apple's scale and declared Frequent/Intense Sexual Content or Nudity on its iPhone listing.
That makes this the easiest part of the comparison. If adult roleplay is why you would pay, Talkie will not give it to you on any plan, and PolyBuzz will. If you would rather an app stayed clean by design, Talkie does that, although its Android version carries a Teen rating with a Sexual Themes descriptor, so the rules and the rating do not fully agree.
Is PolyBuzz or Talkie safer?
Neither runs a real age check for US users. PolyBuzz's Terms require third party age verification only in the United Kingdom, under the Online Safety Act, and ask everyone else for a date of birth. Talkie sets no 18+ minimum of its own: when we read its Terms in September they said 16 and 17 year olds may use it with a parent's permission. Apple lists both iPhone apps as 18+.
On data they differ in an odd way. PolyBuzz's Google Play declaration says it shares approximate and precise location with other companies for advertising. Talkie's Google Play form says the app collects no data at all, yet its privacy policy says chats are used so your companion can learn from your interactions and that website visitor data such as IP address and advertising ID is shared with advertising companies. Deny location access in your phone's settings before you start either one; the same discipline businesses use to lock down which data and tools an AI system is allowed to touch works fine for a personal chat app. Our deeper reads on whether PolyBuzz is safe and whether Talkie is safe go through each company's documents line by line.
Can I get a refund from PolyBuzz or Talkie?
Rarely, and only through the store if you paid in an app. Talkie's Terms say fees are non refundable to the fullest extent the law allows, partial months are not refunded, and you cancel only through the app marketplace where you subscribed. PolyBuzz's app plans also go through Apple or Google, so refund requests go to Apple's report a problem page or Google Play's order history, and its web plans follow its own Terms.
Deleting either app cancels nothing. Cancel in iPhone Settings under Subscriptions or in Google Play under Payments and subscriptions, at least a day before renewal. That matters most on PolyBuzz's weekly plan, where a forgotten month costs four charges rather than one.
Which one should you pay for?
Pay for PolyBuzz if memory and adult roleplay are the reasons you would pay. Buy the yearly plan on polybuzz.ai rather than a weekly plan in the app, and if you are on an iPhone, expect to do that on the website now anyway. If you are also weighing Chai, we priced that matchup in PolyBuzz vs Chai.
Pay for Talkie if voice and collecting characters are what you enjoy and you want things kept clean. Start with one $9.99 month, take the $49.99 year if you are staying, and only move to Talkie+ Pro at $24.99 a month once you know what it adds. Set a monthly limit on gems before you open the shop.
And if what you want is one partner who remembers your week and picks up where you left off, that is a different product from both. Amorous costs $12 month to month or $9 a month billed yearly, with nothing metered on top and no currency to buy. You can see how it remembers in the demo at the top of this page, then compare plans on our pricing page.
