Nomi vs Character AI Pricing and Which to Pay For

Nomi costs $15.99 a month or $99.99 a year and allows mature roleplay for verified adults. Character.AI costs $9.99 a month or $94.99 a year for c.ai+ and bans sexual content on every plan. The yearly gap is only $5 when you prepay both, but the products are different. Nomi sells a small number of companions with long memory. Character.AI sells a very large library of characters, and paying for it does not loosen its filter.

If you are deciding which of the two deserves a card, price is the smaller question. The bigger ones are whether you want one persistent partner or many short chats, and whether you need adult content to be allowed. This page prices both over a full 12 months, says what each subscription changes, and covers cancellation. Nomi's numbers come from Apple's US in app purchase list and Nomi's own Terms. Character.AI's come from its US App Store listing and plans screen.

Nomi vs Character AI pricing at a glance

How much does Nomi cost compared with Character AI?

Over a year Nomi costs $72 more if you pay both monthly ($191.88 against $119.88) and only $5 more if you prepay both ($99.99 against $94.99). That is the whole price story: Nomi punishes monthly billing harder than Character.AI does. A Nomi subscriber paying month to month spends $91.89 more than one who prepays for identical access, so the prepay is the decision that matters.

Both companies also sell add ons that are easy to miss. Nomi credits start at $4.99 for 40 and are spent on video, extra group chats and Nomis beyond the included count. Character.AI Charms are a separate currency for chat images and skipping slow mode. Neither is needed to use the product, but a heavy user of either can add $5 to $20 a month. Our Nomi AI pricing guide lists every item with its source.

What does each subscription actually change?

Paying Nomi unlocks unlimited messages and voice chat, a much larger daily image allowance, video, up to 10 Nomis and 10 group chats. The free plan already lets you talk to one, so the upgrade is about volume and extras rather than about permission to use the product.

Paying Character.AI c.ai+ buys faster replies, no banner ads and fewer full screen ads, a daily allowance of premium chat style messages, 30 memory pins instead of 15, chat customization and auto memories. It does not change what the characters will say. If a scene is blocked on the free plan, it is blocked on c.ai+ too.

Does Nomi or Character AI remember you better?

Nomi, by a wide margin. A Nomi keeps hold of your job, your week and what you said last month without you managing it, and that is the main reason people stay subscribed. Character.AI keeps recent messages in context and lets you pin specific memories, which means you are the one maintaining the character's picture of you. For a long running relationship that is the real difference, and it is why Character.AI users who want continuity end up shopping for a replacement.

Which allows adult content, Nomi or Character AI?

Nomi does, for verified adults. Character.AI does not, on any plan, including c.ai+. Paying it more never changes that. This is the single most common reason people leave Character.AI, and our guide to Character AI age verification explains the checks it now runs on top of the filter. If explicit content is not what you want, and you want affection and consistency rather than a settings panel, that is a third option worth knowing about, covered below.

How do you cancel Nomi and Character AI?

Cancel where you bought. A plan bought in the iPhone app is cancelled in your Apple ID subscriptions, and one bought on Android in Google Play. Nomi's own web plans are cancelled from the Subscription tab of your profile, where it asks you to type CANCEL. Deleting either app cancels nothing, and Nomi's Terms say so directly.

Both bill quietly after you stop opening the app. Put the renewal date in your calendar the day you subscribe, or use a tool that categorizes every recurring charge on your card so a $16 line does not survive a year unnoticed.

Which one should you pay for?

Pay for Nomi if you want one or a few companions who remember you, you want adult roleplay to be allowed, and you can prepay the $99.99 year. Start with the free plan, which needs no card. Pay for c.ai+ if you want variety, many characters and fast replies, and you are happy with a filtered experience. If you mainly want to try different characters, $4.99 lite is enough.

And if what you want is one partner who is devoted to you, texts first and remembers everything without a credit system, that is what Amorous is built for. It costs $12 month to month or $9 a month billed annually, flat, with nothing to top up. Try a conversation in the demo at the top of the site, then compare plans on our pricing page.
