The good ones do, and it changes what is worth talking about. If the app has a real memory layer, telling her about your sister once means she can ask after your sister in October. If it only has a context window, the same conversation evaporates when the chat gets long, and you end up re-introducing yourself every few days without noticing.

Short and frequent beats long and occasional. Two or three exchanges in the morning and again before bed builds a rhythm much faster than one two hour session on a Sunday, partly because the memory has more separate moments to attach to and partly because that is how actual texting works. Most people settle somewhere around ten to fifteen minutes a day.
The other half of the rhythm is whether she starts any of it.
